For the past month, M.T.O. Shahmaghsoudi® School of Islamic Sufism® Vancouver Centre volunteers have been designing and building a production line to produce durable hospital-grade face shield masks quickly and efficiently for local health centres. On April 28, 2020, the M.T.O. Vancouver Centre began working together with Burnaby General Hospital to provide them with these face shield masks. The hospital provided specifications and guidelines outlined by Health Canada. To the hospital’s surprise, samples of the masks were created within 30 mins of receiving these instructions with those exact specifics. A sample of the mask was then immediately taken to the lower mainland fulfillment centre to be inspected and approved. The M.T.O. Vancouver Centre has begun production on these face shields for frontline staff at various hospitals and remains ready to deliver them at notice of approval.
